Mesoamerican Reef Conservation

The Mesoamerican Reef Conservation project, financed by the Mesoamerican Reef Fund has strengthened the region’s marine  monitoring marine protected areas. In 2021, through donations granted to civil society organizations, the project promoted the conservation of marine and coastal resources and the population’s economic well-being through rescuing coral reefs, monitoring the quality of water, managing solid waste, carrying out environmental education, and implementing best practices in sustainable fishing. In total, 35 people adopted best practices in sustainability.
